Luxury cruise line Seabourn will name its next two ships Seabourn Encore and Seabourn Ovation. They are launching in late 2016 and spring 2018.
The new vessels will build on the success of the Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn and Seabourn Quest, which were introduced between 2009 and 2011.
"Seabourn Encore and Seabourn Ovation will applaud the current fleet in both vessel design and guest experience," said Seabourn President Richard Meadows. "Both words, Encore and Ovation, pay tribute to the tremendous success and outstanding accomplishments our current ships have achieved. They are perfect names to celebrate Seabourn's expanding fleet."
The new pair will have one additional deck and expanded public areas, pushing them up to 40,350-tons in size with capacity for 604 guests, based on double occupancy. The Odyssey-class ships measure 32,000 tons with capacity for 450 guests.
The two ships are being designed by Adam D. Tihany, a renowned hospitality interior architect. The company said he is "drawing inspiration from the line's rich history and yachting heritage." Tihany is designing all indoor and outdoor guest areas, including the multiple dining venues, The Spa at Seabourn, showrooms, casino, lounges, outdoor deck areas, and the Seabourn Square, the social hub of the ship with a club-like ambiance.
The new ships will have all-suite accommodations, all with verandas, as well as several dining venues, open bars throughout the ship, and complimentary fine wines poured at lunch and dinner.
