Seabourn's Luxury Earns Two Gold Travvy Awards

Seabourn had a great night at the 2018 Travvy Awards.
The luxury cruise line won the gold in both the Best Cruise Line - Expedition/Adventure and Best Cruise Ship - Luxury categories, with the company’s newest Seabourn Encore specifically taking the latter title.
“We’re truly grateful for the recognition bestowed on Seabourn by the voters in this year’s Travvy Awards, which underscores our goal to be the World’s Finest Ultra-Luxury Cruise Line, and an unparalleled supporter of the retail travel professional,” responded Chris Austin, Senior Vice President, Global Marketing & Sales for Seabourn. “The collective Seabourn team strives to excel each day, taking care of our guests in a way that feels truly like home through service delivered in a manner you just can’t find anywhere else. Over the coming year, we’ll add our fifth ultra-luxury ship to the Seabourn fleet and expand the Ventures by Seabourn program in Iceland and Greenland this summer, both destinations growing in interest for travelers.”

It’s pretty remarkable for a cruise line, known for some of the globe’s greatest fineries, to also be recognized for its ability to comfortably take guests to some of the most remote areas of the world. For Seabourn, expedition travel does not equate to rugged, but rather plush adventures.
As someone who has had the privilege to sail on the Seabourn Encore, I am fully aware of just how special a ship it is. For instance, I cannot say enough great things about Thomas Keller’s incredible cuisine. His food already elevated the line—which is now available fleet-wide—but on the Encore, his dedicated restaurant is bigger. The added capacity makes it easier to confirm a complimentary reservation onboard.

With 2018 being Seabourn’s 30th anniversary, there is no doubt this year will be an exciting one. It will include the launch of the line’s fifth vessel—the Seabourn Ovation. Meanwhile, Ventures by Seabourn will foster the line’s expeditionary nature in Iceland and Greenland.
Seabourn Quest will journey from Dover to Seydisfjordur, Djupivogur, Heimaey and Grundarfjordur, Iceland on May 17, 2018, for 15 days. Another 15-day voyage will depart Reykjavik on June 1 to discover Vigur, Isafjordur, Akureyri, and Siglufjorour.
Later, an extensive 45-day cruise on July 16 will showcase six stops in Iceland plus Tasiilaq, Skjoldungen Fjord, Nuuk (Godthab) and Sisimiut (Holsteinsborg) in Greenland—all in Seabourn’s signature luxurious style.
