Silversea is teaming up with hospitality school Les Roches to offer a new post-graduate cruise management diploma.
Hosted on the Les Roches campus in Marbella, Spain, the program will give students the skills and knowledge they need to work in the cruise industry. Coursework will focus on marketing, food and beverage, maritime law, revenue management and onboard management. Participants will also get to take a business trip to Miami to see the world’s largest passenger cruise port.
Students can earn scholarships to attend and, after they complete the two-semester program, they’re guaranteed a job at Silversea. The company has added six new ships to its fleet within the last three years.
“As part of our commitment to offering our guests the very best service at sea, Silversea places great importance on sourcing the industry’s most talented crewmembers,” says Barbara Muckermann, president of Silversea. “Education and training are key in this service-oriented industry, which is growing fast.”
