Are you a huge fan of anything and everything Hello Kitty? The better question would be who isn't a fan of the Japanese cartoon character, am I right?
For the fans of Hello Kitty, there is only one destination on the agenda for the next international vacation; Sanrio Puroland in Tokyo, Japan.
Sanrio is the company that owns the cartoon cat, and Puroland is the Disney World equivalent for this company and its unique characters. While the park may have been opened in 1990, recent improvements and a resurgence of popularity for the Hello Kitty character have helped the theme park increase its luster.
In a report from Eric Grundhauser of Atlas Obscura, the indoor park takes visitors through the world of Hello Kitty primarily, but also showcases the other characters the company has developed over the years. With its uniquely Japanese style, the facilities act as the perfect balance of marketing and cultural expression.
According to Suzy Strutner of the Huffington Post, the prices for the park are fairly expensive, totaling at $27 per ticket for adults. Add in all of the merchandise for sale and the attractions (plus food and drinks), and the trip to Hello Kitty's house can be pricey.
Fans of the park have shared photos from the Hello Kitty wonderland on Twitter:
The park features an assortment of themed rides and games. From Lady Jewelpet's Magical Musical to the Sanrio Character Boat Ride - hauntingly similar to the It's A Small World ride at California's Disneyland - fans of the cartoon character will be fully immersed in the world of Hello Kitty.
Now if I could only hitch a ride on a Hello Kitty airplane…
