The Turks and Caicos Islands, one of the Caribbean’s most coveted destinations, is in the midst of a record tourism year, with a 6% increase in overnight visitors 384,590) for the first six months of 2026, a slate of new hotel openings and a 42% drop in crime.
Luxury Brands Drive Hotel Expansion
All told, Turks and Caicos added 177 new hotel rooms in 2026, with the debut of Hotel Indigo by IHG, Treasure Beach Village at Beaches Turks & Caicos and 20 suites at Ellipse Grace Bay.
Another 184 rooms will be unveiled later this year, when the 184-room Andaz Turks & Caicos at Grace Bay – the first Hyatt-branded hotel in Turks and Caicos begins welcoming guests later this year.
Luxury brands such as St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and Janu, a sister brand to Aman Resorts, are to unveil new properties beginning in 2027

New Routes from BermudAir, United
On the airline front, BermudAir added six East Coast routes, with United Airlines scheduled to launch its first nonstop to the destination out of Denver later this year.
The BermudAir service includes flights between Providenciales and Newark Liberty International Airport, Boston Logan International Airport, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, Raleigh-Durham International Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport. “Notably, the new services from Raleigh-Durham and St. Pete–Clearwater represent the first-ever nonstop flights from those airports to the Turks and Caicos Islands,” said Experience Turks and Caicos Islands, the marketing organization for the Turks and Caicos Islands.
United Airlines service from Denver to Providenciales will commence in December 2026, “representing the farthest West direct flight to the Turks and Caicos Islands,” said Experience Turks and Caicos Islands.
Violent Crime Plummets by 42%
Adding to Turks and Caicos’ allure is the fact that the “destination maintains a Level 2 U.S. Travel Advisory rating since July 2023, alongside a 42% reduction in violent crime year-over-year,” Experience Turks and Caicos said.
“As visitor arrivals reach new record highs, new luxury developments come on stream, and air connectivity continues to expand, we remain focused on preserving the qualities that make these islands so special while ensuring tourism continues to create meaningful opportunities for our people,” said Zhavargo Jolly, minister of tourism for Turks and Caicos Islands.
“We will continue working closely with our industry partners, law enforcement agencies and international stakeholders to strengthen visitor safety, enhance the visitor experience, and maintain the Turks and Caicos Islands' position as one of the world's premier luxury tourism destinations,” he added.
