Travelers planning and booking trips to Walt Disney World Resort will soon have access to a new AI tool.
Powered by Google's Gemini, the new offering will soon launch in beta, according to CNET, allowing
randomly selected guests in the United States and Canada to view AI summaries of Disney World resort comparisons and pricing on Disney's booking site and mobile app.
The chat feature will even direct users to booking links after providing the summaries and recommendations, which will be built on official Disney data only.
"We’re partnering with Google Cloud on the AI portion of this, but we are using Disney sources and data underpinning that," a Disney representative said during a recent media briefing.
The new AI offering will initially be focused on resort planning rather than full park itineraries and users cannot yet use it to secure Lightning Lane or dining reservations.
For now, guests with access to the tool can view resort prices on a Walt Disney World map, browse dates with the best available rates, have eligible offers automatically applied and share potential itineraries with others in their travel group.
It's important to note that Disney has no plans to do away with existing planning and booking channels such as its call center and travel advisors.
