A comedian traveling through Los Angeles International Airport was so taken aback by another passenger allowing her dog to defecate on the floor of a terminal that he caused the woman to miss her flight.
According to News.com.au, comedian Steve Hofstetter said he was traveling through LAX when he saw a woman allow her dog to relieve itself on the floor and then did not pick up the waste. Another man brought the dog's poop to the attention of the woman, who was speaking on the phone.
Instead of picking up the feces, the woman rolled her eyes at the man and continued her conversation. As the woman tried to walk away from the poop, another passenger asked if she planned on cleaning up after her dog, but she told the person that the facility has people to handle the situation.
Hofstetter stood near the pile of feces and warned other travelers to avoid it until another person reached out to maintenance workers, who arrived and cleaned it up. As someone who has traveled with his dog in the past, Hofstetter said on Facebook that he understood the issues that come with the venture, but said that doesn't excuse the woman's actions
After the incident was over, Hofstetter walked to the gate where his flight to Tokyo was waiting and was stunned to see the woman waiting there as well. He noted that she was listening to music on her phone without headphones, and he decided to sit next to her.
In true comedic fashion, Hofstetter asked if the woman was going to London on business, and when she responded she was heading to Tokyo, he told her that the flight had been moved to another gate.
The woman then grabbed her bags and her dog and ran away from the gate without even double checking the monitor at the gate, which still clearly displayed Tokyo as the destination. Hofstetter said he didn't see the woman onboard his flight, nor did he hear her dog.
"Maybe she can re-book on another airline. I hear they have people for that," Hofstetter said in a statement.
