Book Condos with Chase Ultimate Rewards
Features & Advice Holly Johnson November 08, 2017

When it comes to staying in hotels with points and miles, there are generally two main strategies.
Either you can rack up hotel points with hotel loyalty programs like IHG Rewards and World of Hyatt—or earn travel points that transfer to these programs—or you can pursue flexible travel credit and book some sort of rental condo, usually through Airbnb or VRBO.com.
Why the two options?
While staying in a fancy hotel with points can be a lot of fun and offer “bang for your buck” where your points are concerned, not all hotel rooms will sleep more than two people (especially in Europe) and many people prefer a space with a kitchen and living area. If you’re traveling as a couple, on the other hand, you might crave the hotel or resort experience and prefer it to a condo with fewer amenities and a lot less grandeur.
Different strokes for different folks, right?
The thing is, it’s actually possible to book condos in certain cities through Chase Ultimate Rewards—a loyalty program that is normally known for its transfers to hotel loyalty programs like Marriott, Hyatt, IHG Rewards and Ritz Carlton.
It depends on where you’re traveling, of course, but I’ve recently found a ton of options available. You just have to search for what you need and hope it’s there.

Case in point: I recently took my kids to Spain for part of a longer European trip. We spent two nights in Madrid and four nights in Barcelona and were able to book rental condos in both cities through Chase Ultimate Rewards:
—Eric Vokel Apartments Madrid Suites—two nights at 18,937 points per night
—Aspasios Rambla Catalunya Suites, Barcelona—four nights at 19,812 points per night
The two condos we booked through Chase were absolutely perfect in every way—spacious and in excellent locations.
Best of all, we were able to book with points and walk away owing absolutely nothing for our stays. (Again, while it’s possible to book condos with multiple bedrooms with points via Chase Ultimate Rewards, keep in mind that lodging options are different everywhere and you may not be able to do this in every city.)
Either way, you can search for condos via the Chase portal just like you would hotels.
For example, I searched Paris, France for four people—two adults and two kids—in April 2018. While the options weren’t cheap, there were more condos available to book than you might think.
For example, you could book a two-bedroom condo at Nell Hotel & Suites, BW Premier Collection in Central Paris starting at 30,031 points per night with the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
Several other options were available as well, including condos with living rooms and hotels that offered adjoining rooms with a shared living space.

As you plan your travels with rewards, don’t forget to think outside the box. Beyond just hotels and flights, Chase offers some condo options that can be perfect for a traveling family. But, you'll never know unless you look.
