It is on a lot of peoples bucket lists: get to Times Square for New Years Eve and watch the ball drop. Yeah, you and about 1,000,000 other people, all crammed into a street, cold, sometimes wet, and never allowed to drink a champagne taste at midnight because you aren't allowed to consume alcohol in public in NYC. And where is the nearest public bathroom? All of that is about to change.
New York City Vacation Packages has put together the solution to all of your Times Square New Years Eve problems. They are throwing the best darn NYE party in the city since they started dropping the ball in 1904. How about sitting 23 stories above the crowd? Sounds pretty good to me. Throw in hors d'oeuvres, buffet stations, dessert stations, open bar, and a DJ and now you have a party.
They are also throwing in a roving magician, souvenir photo booth, Decorations, favors and souvenirs. Plus they will have flat screen TVs to view all of the New Year's Eve network specials (you know, in case you just can't miss "New Year's Rockin' Eve").
"All those people on the street stand shivering in the cold with no access to food, beverages, or restrooms for hours just for that 10-second glimpse of the ball drop. Instead…enjoy [yourself] at an exclusive party overlooking Times Square-complete with an open bar, hors d'oeuvres, dinner and desserts, music and dancing, and of course that gorgeous view of the ball drop and the fireworks," explains Joel Cohen, one of NYCVP's team of NYC vacation planning specialists.
The party is taking place at Convene (810 Seventh Avenue), just five blocks from times square. Convene's large windows wrap around all four walls, so you will not only see the Ball Drop but also catch the Central Park fireworks as well.
Kids are welcome and discounted packages are available. Accommodations, ball drop gala and bonus NYC attractions ticket start at only $1,227 per person. The hotel is the Sheraton New York Times Square, right in the heart of midtown just minutes from Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, central park and more.
This year, take New Year's Eve in Times Square off your bucket list, but do it the right way.
