Travelers to Hawaii are looking to make a local connection and Airbnb is here to help.
Airbnb's Hawaii Experiences portfolio connects travelers to classes, workshops, lessons and activities offered by local hosts.
Access to locals is a key trend for the modern traveler and Airbnb found this to be especially true in Hawaii.
In an Airbnb/Survey Monkey poll, 88 percent of respondents said that taking in the destination's natural beauty was a must-do, while two-thirds of Americans wanted to experience the islands and all they have to offer through the lens of a local expert.
Additionally, 57 percent said they wanted to experience a side of a destination that they couldn't see from typical tourist districts and attractions.
Adventures that are now offered by locals include kitesurfing lessons on Maui, nightglow stand-up paddle boarding on Kauai and ukulele classes on Oahu.
Currently, there are more than 100 activities available in the state, including more than 15 social impact experiences where 100 percent of the proceeds go directly to the hosting organization.
Overall, Airbnb's Experiences are growing steadily and are now offered in more than 50 travel markets. The number of travelers booking activities has risen to 12 times the amount booked in 2016.
In total, there are more than 3,100 experiences available around the world and tens of thousands of local hosts have applied to list their experiences on Airbnb.
The company has taken further steps to streamline travel for its users. It now also offers in-app restaurant reservations.
Looks like Airbnb is your one-stop travel shop.
