In the Caribbean, the fall travel season means special packages designed for families and friends, many offered in partnership with local tourism offices, which can provide vacationers with access to current information on island events, attractions and special services.
For example, the hilltop luxury resort Anse Chastanet is offering five-night "Tropical Tranquility" packages in recognition of St. Lucia's Health and Wellness Month, a St. Lucia Tourist Board promotion that launches in November.
The packages feature accommodations, round-trip airport transfers, daily breakfast and dinner, an escorted walk across the French Colonial Anse Mamin plantation; two one-hour spa treatments per person, champagne and appetizers delivered to the room at sunset and Anse Chastanet bathrobes.
Travelers can book stays in superior accommodations between Nov. 1 and Dec. 19, 2014; and from Jan. 5 to Dec. 19, 2015 for a double occupancy rate of $3,924. Vacationers must book stays by Nov. 30, 2014. Guests will also have access to the resort's tennis court, water sports equipment and complimentary water taxi service to Anse Mamim beach.
Another St. Lucia property, Coconut Bay, is offering all-inclusive rates starting at $133 per person for travel from Oct.1 to Dec. 20, 2014. The 250-room resort resort features Harmony, an adults-only section that includes suite concierge service, and Splash, a family friendly wing that features a supervised kids' club. The resort also features four restaurants, six bars, four pools including an adults-only pool, an oceanfront spa and what is billed as the island's largest water park.
Several St. Maarten hotels and resorts have joined with the St. Maarten Tourism Bureau to offer discounts up to 40 percent off published rates, plus other travel incentives and activities. The all-inclusive Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino's "Fall into Savings" packages offer one free night to travelers who book stays of three nights or more by Sept. 30, 2014. Vacationers will also receive $200 in resort credits for travel through Dec. 18, 2014.
Meanwhile, the Oyster Bay Beach Resort is offering several discounted rate packages for the fall. Guests will enjoy 40 percent off standard rates for stays through Sept. 30, 2014; 20 percent off travel from October 1 to 31, 2014 and 10 percent off travel from Nov. 1 to Dec. 19, 2014. Perched on a coral reef overlooking the Caribbean Sea, the resort features sweeping ocean views and a white sand beach.
St. Maarten's Westin Dawn Beach Resort & Spa is offering travelers who book two nights or more at published rates 40 percent off the second night. The 325-room property features 15 suites, two restaurants, a lobby bar and swim-up bar and a full-service European-style spa.
Barbados' 24-room Island Inn Hotel is offering all-inclusive packages featuring breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea and beverages plus in-pool scuba lessons at rates starting at $350 per room, per night, double occupancy. The property is located near Carlisle Bay, less than one mile from the historic capital city of Bridgetown and a brief walk from the Garrison Historic Area UNESCO World Heritage site.
Jamaica's all-inclusive Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort Montego Bay is offering a "Fall Prime Sale" featuring 60 percent off published rates. The offer applies to bookings made through Dec. 21, 2014 for stays through Dec. 22, 2014. Package rates start at $187 per-room, per-night, double occupancy for standard, superior, deluxe and junior suite room categories.
