Two kids. Three dogs. And not enough time in the day. It's par for the course for most families today, so who can blame parents for dreaming of a tropical getaway, where all there is to do is relax under the sun, sipping on a fruity drink, with the occasional dip in the pool to break the monotony. But with children in tow, most parents think their wishes for a Caribbean holiday are nothing more than pipe dreams.
Luckily, the resort complex in Jamaica, which comprises the Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort & Spa and the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa has recently upgraded its family amenities, making it the perfect multigenerational escape.
The Water Park is the latest addition to the Grand Palladium Resort complex's family offerings, which features kids' clubs and Play at Palladium with Raggs, featuring characters from the Emmy-winning live-action television program. The new water park offers two pools, the largest with five toboggans, each a different height and shape and suitable for adults and children, alike. The smaller pool, with shallow waters and cooling showers disguised as palm trees, is designed for the littlest travelers.
It also features toboggans, but these are designed to look like everyone's favorite marine animals. Lifeguards are on hand to ensure everyone's safety, but those parents leery of venturing too far from their little ones can take heart. Located alongside the children's pool, the Parents Rest Area offers a pleasant sanctuary where mom and dad can enjoy time on their own while still keeping an eye on the kids.
When not splashing in the pool, children between the ages of 4 and 12 can enjoy a day of activities designed just for them at the Mini Club, where they'll be under the supervision of highly trained professionals. On the itinerary are painting, arts and crafts, and a variety of games. Older children will enjoy spending time at the mini-disco or playing video games on private viewing screens, while the younger set will have fun on the club's playground.
Play at Palladium with Raggs is an immersive experience for fans of Raggs, Trilby, Pido, B.Max, and Razzles, five puppies known for their musical abilities and high-energy live shows. Young guests of the Grand Palladium Resorts have the opportunity to interact with their favorite Raggs characters through meet-and-greets, a Raggs character breakfast (with parent-approved breakfast choices that are both tasty and healthy), a live 90-minute interactive pirate show presented at the resorts' on-site theaters, and Pido's Surf Party, where kids can dance till they drop.
The Grand Palladium Resorts makes family vacations even easier with spacious suites and adjoining rooms, allowing mom and dad some time on their own, while the little ones sleep next door. And anyone who's ever faced down a picky toddler at mealtime will be thrilled with the healthy, but kid-tested and approved, children's buffet.
