AAA awarded four tropical resorts the AAA Five Diamonds designation this month: La Casa de la Playa in Playa del Carmen, Mexico; Secrets Impression Moxché in Playa del Carmen, Mexico; the Waldorf Astoria Cancun in Cancun, Mexico; and Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort at Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i.
Each month, the AAA Diamond lists are updated by inspectors who analyze hotels, resorts and restaurants based upon cleanliness, comfort, cuisine and consistency. Currently, there are 130 Five Diamond hotels and 60 Five Diamond restaurants in the world, with 1,750 Four Diamond hotels and 535 Four Diamond restaurants.
La Casa de La Playa is an exclusive and luxurious resort created by Xcaret. The boutique resort is an eco-friendly luxury option featuring roundtrip airport transfers, 63 suites, a stunning infinity pool high above the ocean and several dining options spearheaded by well-known chefs.
Secrets Impression Moxché is an adults-only all-inclusive resort featuring a Preferred Club upgraded resort experience, seven pools resembling cenotes, twelve bars and fifteen restaurants, the Secrets Spa by Pevonia and more.
The historic Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort offers several different private villa-style options, called Hale or Kauhale. The resort prides itself on its sense of place, and many of its offerings are deeply rooted in Hawaiian culture, history and nature, including its wellness experiences.
