The Halekulani hotel in Waikiki will unveil The Orchid Suite at Halekulani on Dec. 20. The new suite, designed to embody the qualities of the property's Cattleya Orchid, is part of the hotel's property-wide renewal initiative leading up to its 25th Anniversary in 2009. It also will be one of the three suites that will comprise The Premier Suites at Halekulani, which also includes the recently redesigned Royal Suite and the Vera Wang Suite, which debuted in 2005.
The Orchid Suite is designed with three of the Halekulani's elemental values in mind: wellness (mind, body and spirit), connoisseur (fine cuisine) and masterworks (the arts). Inspired by the Pacific Ocean, The Orchid Suite features a Sea of Life Wellness program designed by SpaHalekulani and featuring treatments and therapies inspired by the renewing properties of the sea. For connoisseurs, the suite features a full-service, Sub-Zero Wolf kitchen with interactive cooking experiences by Halekulani chefs, daily market deliveries and a select La Mer menu of European cuisine. To perpetuate the masterworks element, the hotel will unveil a new partnership in the near future, as well as the Art in Motion luxury automobile program.
Set apart from the historic main building, the 2,365-square-foot Orchid Suite faces the ocean with doors opening onto a private lawn with panoramic views of Waikiki Beach. The interiors are designed in calming tones, and the master bedroom provides a view of Diamond Head. The master bath is equipped with a steam shower and a deep steeping tub, with private views of the garden. The living room was designed to resemble a luxury beach cottage, with alfresco dining and a spacious lanai. The entertainment room will also serve as a private study or family room.
As with the other two Premier Suites, The Orchid Suite features complimentary butler service, customized culinary programs, and personal concierge and VIP privileges with the hotel's For You Everything, program, which offers free access to the Honolulu Symphony, the Honolulu Academy of Arts, the Bishop Museum, the Iolani Palace, the Contemporary Museum of Arts Honolulu and the Shang-Ri La Estate, among other cultural attractions.
