Hampton by Hilton is kicking off the new year in a big way.

Hilton's upper-midscale brand, which already includes 2,330 properties, has added seven new hotels to its national and global portfolio.

Last year, the brand opened new hotels at a steady pace, an average of two per week globally. As a result, Hampton by Hilton reached its 100 new hotels goal for the third year in a row.

Hampton has also grown its overall pipeline to include more than 580 planned hotels, according to a statement from the company. That figure represents a 17.7 percent year-over-year increase.

"Following a strong year, we are building upon that momentum by capitalizing on the demand for upper-midscale hotels around the world," Shruti Gandhi Buckley, global head, Hampton by Hilton, said in a statement. "Hampton remains the category killer. It's truly everywhere our guests want and need to be. Pairing that accessibility with our longstanding commitment to guest satisfaction makes Hampton the ideal choice for travelers."

Among the new hotels for 2018 are several U.S. properties that have opened in the past two months. The list of openings includes a new Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Knightdale Raleigh and a Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Sacramento at CSUS.

Hampton also beefed up its presence in North Carolina, Kansas, Massachusetts and Missouri with Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Forest City, Hampton Inn by Hilton Wichita Northwest, Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Boston/Waltham and finally Hampton Inn by Hilton Kirksville.

The brand's global expansion continues at a steady pace as well, including the opening of Hampton by Hilton Qingyuan Qingxin District, in China. The Qingyuan Qingxin District property is just one of nearly 50 hotels slated to be opened in China in 2018.
