Hyatt Hotels Corporation has just announced strategic growth plans for its Hyatt Place and Hyatt House brands during the remainder of 2023. These include introducing a presence into new U.S. markets where no Hyatt properties currently exist, as well as mindful expansion of airport hotel locations in key markets.

As part of the Hyatt Place and Hyatt House brands’ expansion in the U.S., the hospitality giant will welcome 14 new owners to the Hyatt family, as well as expand existing Hyatt portfolios for five owners.

The select-service brands in its pipeline presently represent the fastest-growing segment of Hyatt’s U.S. hotel portfolio, as the company continues its six-year run of industry-leading net rooms growth. The newest of its select-service brands, still in development, is Hyatt Studios—an upper-midscale, extended-stay brand that will launch in the Americas. The company recently confirmed that the brand’s first franchise agreements have been signed for locations in Mobile, Alabama and Marysville, California.

“As part of Hyatt’s commitment to listen to our owners and take action on their feedback, Hyatt continues to identify white space in sought-after markets,” said Jim Tierney, senior vice president, development and owner relations, Hyatt. “Based on our intentional growth strategy, we focus on growing in new markets and expanding our base with new developers and owners without creating intra-brand competition.”

By year’s end, Hyatt expects to have established a presence in the following U.S. markets, none of which currently have a Hyatt-branded hotel located within a five-mile radius.

Hyatt Place:

  • Hyatt Place Albany – New York
  • Hyatt Place Flagstaff – Arizona
  • Hyatt Place Munster – Indiana
  • Hyatt Place Newark / Main Street – Delaware
  • Hyatt Place St. Augustine / Vilano Beach – Florida

Hyatt House:

  • Hyatt House Bentonville / Rogers – Arkansas
  • Hyatt House Colorado Springs Airport – Colorado
  • Hyatt House Lansing / University Area Lansing – Michigan
  • Hyatt House Mall of America / MSP Airport – Minnesota
  • Hyatt House Vacaville – California

This year, Hyatt has also continued to strengthen its brand presence at airport hotels across the U.S., introducing elevated experiences, like free breakfast during your stay, and upgraded in-room amenities that appeal to both leisure and business travelers. These enhancements have been added at the following locations, in addition to the above:

  • Hyatt House Orlando Airport – Florida
  • Hyatt House Sacramento Airport / Natomas – California
  • Hyatt Place Melbourne Airport – Florida
  • Hyatt Place Sacramento International Airport – California

There are also many instances of upcoming property renovations, including 17 Hyatt Place hotels under the Service Properties Trust (SVC) ownership group, which are set to start later this year. A few examples of SVC properties that will benefit from these renovations include Hyatt Place Atlanta/Cobb Galleria (Georgia), Hyatt Place Charlotte Airport/Lake Pointe (North Carolina) and Hyatt Place Tempe/Phoenix Airport (Arizona).

“At Hyatt, we work with owners and franchise operators who share our dedication to operational excellence and our purpose of care,” said Paul Devitt, senior vice president of operations, Hyatt. “We’re privileged to have SVC as part of the Hyatt family and look forward to supporting their upcoming renovations that will bring enhanced experiences for our guests and World of Hyatt members.”
