Summer is a great time to find affordable weekend getaways in the Caribbean, where the high season runs from December through April.
You'll find hotter temps and the slight possibility of a hurricane or two-travel insurance is always a good idea, not just for hurricanes-but you'll also find the islands at their un-crowded finest during the dog days of summer.
There's also less demand for airfare during this period, so many airlines will have discount seats available, even for last-minute weekend getaways.

The Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino on the Happy Island of Aruba is celebrating its recent renovation with Renovation Offer rates starting at $229 and a $50 daily credit for every night of stay.

Take Credit at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar
Resort credit, that is. The new Grand Hyatt Baha Mar one of three properties in the gigantic new Baha Mar development is offering a $75 resort credit for guests who book a two-night minimum stay through Sept. 30.
New is the buzzword here because everything is fresh at this nascent resort plex.
