Meliá Hotels International's all-new Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real officially opened its doors to guests in Punta Cana this month.
The third Paradisus property to open in the Dominican Republic, highlights of the $110 million resort include 288 expansive accommodations ranging from 800 to over 3,000 square feet, an immersive culinary program encompassing as many as 14 restaurants and bars, a Beach Club, fitness studio and water park.
Meanwhile, the neighboring Meliá Caribe Tropical resort has been transformed into two distinct properties, Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort for adults-only and Meliá Caribe Beach Resort for families. The $30 million renovations also debuted this past weekend.
Designed in the shape of a circle-the universal symbol of wholeness and perfection-The Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real is the first of its kind in the Paradisus portfolio. Suites feature either one or two bedrooms as well as a variety of ultra-luxe amenities such as spacious living and dining areas for entertaining, soaking tubs and walk-in showers, private balconies with hydro-massage whirlpool tubs and outdoor living spaces, among others.
The most coveted accommodations are The Grand Reserve's Swim-Up Suites featuring direct access to an exclusive pool as well as lush garden areas and a solarium.
The new resort also includes an additional 144 suites for members of Circle by Melia for a grand total of 432 suites throughout the entire building.
The resort's plentiful dining offerings include a gourmet market, a modern steakhouse with an open-format kitchen, a ceviche bar and an Asian-inspired concept featuring a sushi bar, teppanyaki and robatayaki tables. The Grand Reserve will also be the first Paradisus property to feature Black Oak, a modern take on the classic cigar bar offering a premium selection of cigars, liqueurs and artisanal cocktails.
Exciting activities await guests of all ages. Relax at the Beach Club along the vibrant Bavaro Beach, unwind with WOGA (water yoga) or sweat out your stress during a fitness class at the state-of-the-art Circle Studio. For kids, The Grand Reserve is home to Blast! AquaFun Park, a kid's adventure park featuring water games and slides.
MAIA Signature Treatments by Natura Bissé also debuted alongside the resort. The new spa features products by the Spain-based beauty line Natura Bissé and features more than a dozen treatment rooms along with a relaxation room.
The Grand Reserve guests can Stay at One & Play at Three with complete access to the extensive offerings at both The Reserve and Paradisus Palma Real, including 15 world-class restaurants, YHI Spa and YHI Spa Oriental Garden, five unique pools and complimentary Life Enriching Experiences.
Right now, guests can celebrate the resort's official opening with a special package that includes free roundtrip airport transportation, a 15-minute complimentary massage for two and in-room amenities including a complimentary bottle of champagne. The opening package is available for stays of five nights or more for travel through April 30, 2019.
