Global hospitality giant Marriott International just announced that it has selected EV Connect as the preferred electric vehicle-charging solutions provider for its extensive portfolio of properties in North America.

This new partnership represents the first agreement of its kind for Marriott, and will ensure that U.S. and Canada locations can provide an easy and reliable charging infrastructure for its guests.

With 14 million electric vehicles (EVs) expected to be on our roads by the end of 2023, providing EV-charging infrastructure has increasingly become a priority among hospitality companies.

“As the world shifts towards sustainable energy and clean transportation, hotels and resorts that provide charging facilities for EVs can attract guests who prioritize sustainability and carbon-neutral travel,” said Ram Ambatipudi, Senior Vice President of Business Development at EV Connect. “This collaboration between EV Connect and Marriott marks a major advancement of the EV market's expansion, and it has significant implications for the hospitality sector as a whole."

EV Connect’s comprehensive end-to-end solutions and flexible platform work to simplify and streamline the set-up, monitoring, management and optimization of EV-charging stations. Plus, it the company provides its own premium customer service, which covers everything from unit and system installation to driver support.

Approximately 6,000 participating Marriott locations across North America now have a turnkey solution that enables them to easily add and manage EV-charging stations through the EV Connect platform.

EV Connect also offers a range of scalable charging solutions that will allow each individual property to choose the unit and hardware types that are best suited to its particular needs, all of which can be deployed using EV Connect’s open software platform.

The company also supplies a comprehensive parts and labor warranty plan, called EV Connect Shield, which will provide property owners with peace of mind, knowing that critical operational and maintenance tasks will be performed by qualified personnel, including charging station repair, fieldwork labor and software support. Its experts are equipped to handle tasks ranging from the resolution of minor technical issues to parts sourcing and replacement service.

“Our guests increasingly expect EV charging stations at our properties, and this collaboration will help us meet rapidly evolving consumer demand and further the company’s sustainability goals," said Andrew Bodziak, Senior Vice President of Global Operations at Marriott International. "With EV Connect, we can offer properties an end-to-end turnkey service, simplifying the planning, installation, and maintenance processes while simultaneously delivering high-quality service our guests expect."

Now with nearly 8,600 properties, operating under 31 brands, and spanning 139 countries and territories, Marriott International is helping move the modern hospitality industry forward by making it easier for travelers to choose sustainable transportation options. EV-charging stations installed at Marriott properties will soon be visible on the EV Connect customer app, allowing guests to easily locate and pay for electric fuel.
