More than a half-dozen NFL players visited Montego Bay, Jamaica last month to unwind at the all-inclusive Hyatt Ziva and Zilara Rose Hall while helping the resort support local children at the nearby Granville All Age School.
Tony Carter, Mike Adams, Brandon Marshall, P.J. Williams, Will Gay, Duke Ihenacho and B.W. Webb hosted a Fun & Fitness Day for the students, teaching the kids American Football before themselves learning about the European version.
The special event also featured a pizza party, face painting and a sing-along with NFL saxophonist Trey Daniels.
Moving forward, the Hyatt Ziva and Zilara Rose Hall team will continue its commitment to the 404 students enrolled at the school through its long-term Granville 404 program.
"Playa Hotels and Resorts here in Jamaica is represented by the Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara properties. We have been involved in Granville All Age school for the past two years. Having the 'Through Our Eyes' NFL team participating with us in this our social responsibility project has been nothing short of amazing," said Hyatt Ziva and Zilara Rose Hall PR director, Betty Ann Brown in a statement.
"To see superstars humbling themselves and teaching children how to play football on a dirt field, children who would not normally have this opportunity melts the heart. The group also visited the Blossom Gardens Place of Safety which is a government-run home for wards of the state and orphans. When you saw how big-hearted the players were in not only their gifts but their time, it comes back right to truly serving from the heart. We thank them for coming to visit us and look forward to future partnerships with them."
Through Our Eyes debuted last year after players documented their week-long trip to South Africa.
"Our goal was to create something positive while also educating viewers on the importance of travel," the film's producer and director, Jonathan LeSane told FSUNews.com. "This is also a chance for viewers to see athletes up close and personal, experiencing a variety of things like a wildlife safari, shark diving and giving back at an orphanage."
