With so many unforgettable hotels and resorts around the world, identifying the cream of the crop is far from an easy task.
Thankfully the 2018 Travvy Awards (with the help of travel agents across North America) do the work for all of us each year, recognizing the planet's standout properties in the best Hotels & Resorts category.
Among the 2018 winners announced at the Wednesday night ceremony were many familiar and well-respected names. Starting off the lineup of award recipients was Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa, which took home the top honor in the Best All-Inclusive Adult/Couples Resort category for the Caribbean and Bahamas. Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall was also an award-winner in this category.
The award for Best Luxury Hotel Chain was given to Ritz-Carlton, a brand legendary for its high-end accommodations. Sandals Resorts, with its offerings of lavish over-the-water villas and bungalows that feature "sea-through" glass floors, also received an award in this category.
The Hotels & Resorts category also includes awards for Best Theme Park. Universal Orlando walked away with the gold and Xcaret Park, Playa Del Carmen, Mexico received the silver award.
