A man was arrested and now faces charges of public assault and intoxication after allegedly urinating on a woman at Memphis International Airport Thursday.
The Commercial Appeal reported 34-year-old Demarkus Bush was taken into custody following the disturbing incident.
Citing an offense report from the airport's police department, the Commercial Appeal reported authorities responded early Thursday morning after Bush was witnessed standing over a sleeping woman and urinating on her in a waiting area at one of the terminals.
The incident, which was caught on camera, occurred at 12:07 a.m. local time.
Airport spokesperson Glen Thomas told the Commercial Appeal in an email that the incident took place on the ticketing side of the airport, noting that "a situation like this is rare and unusual."
According to the report, Bush, who was speaking loudly and slurring, told officers that he had consumed several alcoholic beverages.
A search of Bush turned up no weapons or contraband and the victim told authorities she was fine and just needed her coat cleaned.
Bush posted $1,000 bail and is due in court after Christmas on Dec. 27.
