On Tuesday, a report surfaced from a Los Angeles woman who claims an Expedia representative sent her an expletive message and canceled her flight without her consent.
According to FoxNews.com, Cara Viramontes booked a New Year's trip through Expedia and complained to the representative about being charged for travel insurance for her eight-month-old son. She filled out a survey following her call complaining about the service.
Several days later, Viramontes went to Expedia's website to check her itinerary and allegedly found a note which read "F--- you!" and realized her trip had been canceled without her permission.
"Everyone I show, they laugh and think it's a joke," Viramontes told CBS Los Angeles. "No one can believe a company as credible as Expedia would ever do something like this."
Viramontes claims she called Expedia's customer service department and was informed that she was at fault for the canceled reservation. In response, she sent a screenshot of the expletive message to an Expedia supervisor, but never received a response.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Expedia said, "We take this matter very seriously and have opened up an investigation analyzing every click and action made by our customer service agents."
To compensate Viramontes, Expedia has offered to rebook the trip, refund her money and give her an additional voucher worth $500, according to FoxNews.com.
