Tauck’s fleet is growing: The company will be debuting two new riverboats in the spring of 2026.
The unnamed vessels will be built next year in Serbia and The Netherlands. One will be a 443-foot ship with 68 cabins that can accommodate up to 130 guests; it will sail Tauck’s itineraries on the Rhone River.
The other will be a slightly smaller 410-foot ship that can accommodate up to 124 guests and will sail on the Seine River.
Both ships will have Category 1 cabins measuring 180 square feet, which is 20 percent larger than the same staterooms on Tauck’s other ships. Solo travelers who book the Category 1 cabins will have the single supplement waived on every cruise.
The new vessel will continue Tauck’s tradition of offering spacious accommodations and public areas, with smaller crowds and more room to spread out. Each ship will have a dedicated Tauck cruise director as well as up to three Tauck director guides. The itineraries will be all-inclusive.
“With our two new riverboats, we'll continue to prioritize our guests' comfort and the quality of their onboard experience, rather than following the industry norm of maximizing revenue by maximizing passenger capacity,” says Dan Mahar, chief executive officer of Tauck.
The company plans to share more details about the ships in the future.
“We've been listening carefully to what our guests have been saying, and to feedback from the Tauck cruise directors and Tauck director guides who work aboard our riverboats, and we're reimagining our public spaces with some fresh and fun innovations,” says Mahar. “We have some wonderful enhancements in the works, and we're looking forward to revealing more of our plans in the coming months.”
Tauck is wrapping up a record year of European river cruises. The line saw double-digit percentage increases in passenger levels in 2024 compared to 2023. Demand for 2025 is also strong, with pre-season bookings up year-over-year.
