In response to robust demand, Tauck plans to add two new riverboats on the Seine and Douro rivers in 2027 – in addition to two new ships set to debut on the French and Portuguese riverways next year.
Bookings are now open for the 2027 itineraries, Tauck said, adding that guests who reserve space now “will have the opportunity to cancel and receive a full refund of their deposits, when pricing and final itinerary details are announced later this fall.”
In combination with the two ships set to inaugurate service in 2026, “this four-vessel expansion over two years represents the highest volume increase in Tauck’s river cruising history, delivering overall capacity growth of 30% since 2025,” the luxury tour operator said.
“The addition of the new 2027 ships will further scale the company's presence in its most sought-after destinations, with capacity growing 50% in France, and the Douro nearly doubling capacity versus 2025.”
The Seine riverboat will serve as a sister ship to ms Serene, which is set to debut next year. Both vessels will be equipped with a swimming pool and bar, Arthur’s casual dining venue, and The Retreat, an expanded wellness venue featuring full floor-to-ceiling windows. The venue will include a fitness center, massage treatment room, and lounging space with a coffee, juice, and snack bar.
The new Douro River ship will join its sister, ms Andorinha, whose design includes “hydraulic systems that allow the ship to navigate the Portuguese waterway’s lock system with ease,” Tauck said. From Arthur’s, situated at the stern, guests will be privy to panoramic views of the river’s picturesque landscape.
“The enthusiasm for our river cruising experiences has been extraordinary,” said Tauck CEO Jennifer Tombaugh. “Guests appreciate the intimate atmosphere fostered by our ‘small is big’ philosophy, particularly in high-demand destinations like the Douro and France, where space is naturally limited.”
