Small group and community-focused tour operator G Adventures announced it will soon be offering new trips to Bosnia and Herzegovina as the result of a partnership with the U.S. Government’s USAID Developing Sustainable Tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina (USAID Turizam) and the Global Travel & Tourism Resilience Council (GTTRC).
Representatives from G Adventures will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina to discover ways to expand existing itineraries and curate new trips with help from USAID Turizam, which will promote a greater community tourism-based focus.
“The Balkans is a special part of the world that is growing in popularity as people move beyond traditional European destinations,” said Yves Marceau, VP of product for G Adventures. “As more travelers start to visit, it’s important that tourism develops the right way—a way that supports local people and communities. Travel is a two-way exchange, and we’re excited to introduce our new trips in 2025.”
“This collaboration is a powerful example of how rural and local communities that are not on the main tourism route can benefit when governments, NGOs and private social enterprises work together to do the right thing,” continued Marceau.
The focus of the collaboration for G Adventures will be to create positive tourism offerings that support the local communities the tour operator visits, while the other partners will focus on growing the country’s sustainable tourism industry.
