With Winter and Spring Breaks fast approaching, it's the perfect time to head to the Big Apple and take in the sites.
You might think that you've done the town right if you've made visits to all of New York City's must-see tourist attractions and squeezed in some retail therapy along the way. But no trip to New York City is complete without taking in a Broadway show, and with so many hits from which to choose, deciding which one to see won't be an easy task.
But that's where New York City Vacation Packages comes in, helping you put together an amazing itinerary - whether two days or 10 - for your trip to 'The City.'
So, in the spirit of the great playwrights, we offer up 10 of the most popular shows for your consideration.
"A Bronx Tale." Take a trip back in time to the Bronx of the 1960s, as a young man, torn between his father and the mob boss he aspires to be, struggles to follow the right path.
"Book of Mormon." Follow two young Mormons as they undertake a mission to convert the citizens of Uganda. They soon learn that their quest will not be as easy as they thought as they encounter poverty, violence and a society plagued by AIDS.
"Cats." Still going strong after all these years, this musical from Andrew Lloyd Webber tells the story of the Jellicle cats and their quest to ascend to the "Heaviside Layer."
"Come From Away." When flights from all over the world were grounded on Sept. 11, 2001, the isolated hamlet of Gander, Newfoundland, became the unlikely host to the thousands of passengers and crew who found themselves stranded. Undaunted, the people of Gander opened their hearts and homes to show that yes, we all can get along.
"In Transit." This ensemble cast follows an aspiring actress, Wall Street titan, a cab driver and other New Yorkers as they navigate the city's streets and tunnels.
"Kinky Boots." When a young man returns home to help save his family's struggling shoe factory, it's a drag queen named Lola who just might hold the ticket to turning the factory's fortunes around-making ladies' shoes for men.
"Hamilton." The phenomenally popular rap musical based on the life of Alexander Hamilton. Even though star Lin-Manuel Miranda has since departed, it remains one of the hot tickets on Broadway.
"Waitress." Based on the movie of the same name, this production follows a pregnant waitress trapped in an abusive marriage as she searches for love and happiness while making creatively named pies.
"Wicked." Long before Dorothy hit the Yellow Brick Road, there were two other girls from Oz-Elphaba and Glenda. "Wicked" tells the untold true story of the Witches of Oz.
"War Paint." Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole tell the amazing tale of Helena Rubenstein and Elizabeth Arden, forward-thinking entrepreneurs whose drive and 50-year rivalry would forever change the face of American industry. In a world dominated by men, both women were able to overcome humble beginnings to lead companies that would define beauty for the first half of the 20th century.
