Corona has long been one of travelers' favorite and most sought-after adult beverages and the beloved brew is never more of a hit than during the peak summer travel period.

As the season approaches, Corona is cementing itself as the number one beer for travelers.

After all, the iconic brand recently opened bookings for its very own private island off the coast of Colombia.

The eco-friendly destination was the world’s first and only island to receive Oceanic Global's three-star plastic-free Blue Seal for eliminating single-use plastics and adopting sustainable operating best practices at scale.

This week, the unofficial beer of summer announced a partnership with Grey agency to unveil the world's first sun reserve on Brazil’s Piedade Beach in Pernambuco.

In an effort to "preserve access to sunshine on public beaches," Corona is leasing land facing the beach to cap the building height to prevent any obstruction of sunlight to ensure that it reaches the sand.

If successful, Corona hopes to introduce these new sun reserves across more markets, including South Africa and Mexico over the next year.

"Corona is a brand that encourages life outside and believes that there is nothing as special as feeling the sun on your skin, your feet in the sand and the sea breeze on your face. We know that many Brazilians share this feeling and we hope that everyone has a place in the sun. We feel this initiative will encourage people to appreciate its presence," Gabriela Gallo, Corona marketing director in Brazil, said in a statement.

Much has been the case with Corona Island, the beer brand is generating important buzz and awareness in regards to sustainability if nothing else, especially just days ahead of Earth Day.

Corona will remain a popular beer choice among travelers, especially those enjoying sun-kissed beach destinations.

However, the crisp Mexican lager, which turns 100 in 2025, is quickly becoming an easy choice for travelers around the world, no matter the season.
