Carnival Legend has arrived in San Francisco to launch its first season in the Bay Area.
The Port of San Francisco is Carnival Legend’s new seasonal homeport. It’s now the second Carnival Cruise Line ship to sail the cruise line’s seasonal schedule from San Francisco
Port leaders and the ship’s senior officers welcomed the 2,124-guest vessel to San Francisco this week, including Captain Mark Harlow, for a traditional plaque exchange. Then, the ship embarked on a four-day Baja Mexico cruise with a stop in Ensenada.
On May 12, Carnival Legend will depart on its first Alaska sailing of the season.
With Carnival Legend’s arrival in San Francisco, Carnival’s deployment for the Alaska cruise season is now complete. The vessel joins Carnival Spirit and Carnival Luminosa, which are homeporting in Seattle.
Carnival Legend will offer 10-day cruises to Alaska, as well as several shorter getaways to the Mexican Riviera. The ship is also scheduled to sail a 15-day roundtrip Carnival Journeys cruise to Hawaii, departing from San Francisco on September 21.
“The Carnival Legend team is proud to homeport in beautiful San Francisco for the very first time,” says Harlow. “We’re looking forward to sailing guests on unique cruises, connecting this vibrant city with the stunning landscapes of Alaska’s most popular destinations. Our 965 team members are ready to deliver happy and memorable cruise vacations to our guests from this incredible city.”
Also this week, Carnival announced new collaborations with EFFY Jewelry.
The new offerings include an EFFY store at Celebration Key, which is slated to open in July on Grand Bahama. The store will offer a luxurious shopping experience, including a curated collection available only at Celebration Key.
Starting July 6, the family behind EFFY Jewelry will expand its presence onboard Carnival Liberty. Hematian Family Duty-Free (HFDF) will offer a full-scale general retail portfolio, including pre-loved designer handbags, sunglasses and accessories, destination-inspired souvenirs and gifts as well as Carnival-branded apparel and other merchandise. Guests will also be able to design custom Carnival souvenirs and create one-of-a-kind keepsakes, create custom essential oil blends, shop personalized beauty color palettes and participate in immersive spirits tastings.
In 2026, the two companies will also offer an invitation-only charter cruise on Carnival Liberty. It will depart New Orleans on April 26, 2026, and will include collection unveilings, never-before-seen pieces, VIP masterclasses and other events.
“Our connection with guests has always gone beyond jewelry,” says Bobby Hematian, president of EFFY Jewelry. It’s about being part of the moments they’ll never forget. With this new chapter, we’re honored to offer experiences that reflect that same spirit—meaningful, memorable, and filled with joy.”
