This week has been nuts, and we are talking ponies-causing-airline-delays nuts.

And that's just one of the stories we are covering in this our latest breakdown of the week that was.

Here are just a few of the news items we thought were pertinent to your travels, because you can never have too many implanted chip stories to read at the airport.

And, of course, feel free to upvote or downvote across our various social media channels or offer up any stories you think got lost in the bedlam of the latest winter storm.

What Year Is This?

##

The advent of sticking presumably uncomfortable chips under your skin has arrived in the travel industry as TravelPulse's Josh Lew found this week.

Downvote: I've seen "Total Recall" and removing any kind of chip implanted into your body can be, well, painful.

But in all seriousness, I have been poked, prodded, felt up and scanned by TSA. I draw the line at sticking anything in my body just because going through the airport is inconvenient.

Jonas!

##

Like a grumpy old relative, Winter Storm Jonas has entered town only to mess everything up and make everyone around it miserable.

Downvote: We aren't in the habit of upvoting anything that makes our lives more inconvenient, especially when it comes to giving airlines an excuse to be delayed.

The only caveat is when the excuse is unbelievably adorable. Which brings us to:

Oh, Shet:

Airport chaos as 6 planes unable to land because of SHETLAND PONY on the runway https://t.co/6OnEbHYo01 pic.twitter.com/M7mpwGDEwf
- Daily Mirror (@DailyMirror) January 19, 2016

<InvalidTag async src=" " charset="utf-8">##

We will let TravelPulse's Donald Wood take it away: "This past Tuesday at Goucestershire Airport in England, several flights were unable to land or take off due to a Shetland pony wandering on the facility's airstrip."

The sound you hear is my screaming from how cute this is. Or it could be the passengers yelling from frustration. It's best to wait and see on this one.

Upvote: We are usually delayed for unforgivable and rather frustrating reasons. I am far more inclined to forgive the airline if I hear there is a precious animal running around causing a scene. In fact, where can I go to see this scene?

Uber Cool:

##

Uber understands us. Sometimes a car just won't cut it and something far noisier must be employed, like a helicopter.

Upvote: I don't even care if this, like UberLUX, is out my price range. It's still pretty darn cool.

More power to you people with mountains of cash. Perhaps sprinkle some down on us on your next Uber ride in the sky.
