US Airports Offering COVID-19 Testing Ahead of the Holidays

Airports Offering On-Site Testing

1/18
With more than 85 million Americans expected to travel for the upcoming Christmas holiday, airports across the country are ramping up COVID-19 testing to complement face mask and social distancing requirements in the fight against coronavirus. The Vacationer has developed a comprehensive list of the airports currently offering COVID-19 testing on-site. In some cases, testing is only available to passengers flying select airlines or en route to certain destinations requiring a negative COVID-19 test result for entry. Here's a state by state breakdown of the airports leading the charge in terms of testing this December.

Alaska

2/18
Alaska is one of the states requiring visitors to take a COVID-19 test and produce a negative within 72 hours of their flight or risk being tested upon arrival and placed in quarantine until results return. Currently, Alaska's Juneau International Airport, Ketchikan International Airport and Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport are each offering non-residents testing at $250 per test.

Arizona

3/18
Holiday travelers passing through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport can gain access to COVID-19 testing inside of the Drugs & More store located pre-security on Level 3 of Terminal 4 via XpresCheck. Prices vary and the visit takes about 20 minutes with an appointment.

California

4/18
The Golden State's major airports have been quick to roll out COVID-19 testing for travelers. At Los Angeles International Airport, any passenger can access testing for $150 at Terminals 2 and 6 as well as the Tom Bradley International Terminal. San Diego and San Francisco International Airports are also offering tests for specific airlines and destinations while Oakland International Airport has made free testing available for those with insurance at the North Field terminal complex.

6/18
Connecticut's Bradley International Airport outside of Hartford is offering arriving travelers COVID-19 tests in the baggage claim area for $125. Passengers will need to show their boarding pass in order to qualify.

Tampa International Airport was the country's first to pilot COVID-19 testing for all passengers and currently offers travelers on-site testing in the Main Terminal for a maximum of $150 with proof of travel within three days. In South Florida, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport will launch antigen ($69) and PCR ($99) testing in Terminal 3, pre-security on the lower level near baggage claim. Available beginning December 9, tests will be offered to passengers with proof of an upcoming flight from FLL, Miami International Airport or Palm Beach International Airport.

Hawaii

While out-of-state travelers will need to secure a negative test result before they can board their flight to Hawaii, Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu offers coronavirus testing for interisland travelers at a cost of $125. The mobile testing lab is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day and results are expected within six hours.
