JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa Gets Massive Refresh

The Beauty of Hill Country

1/9
The JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa recently unveiled a multi-million-dollar remodel of its public spaces including its main lobby and four of the resort's dining offerings.

The largest JW Marriott in the world, the 1,002-room property now welcomes guests with a contemporary Hill Country flair inspired by the Texas resort's scenic surroundings. Its spaces have become a modern interpretation of a region renowned for its natural beauty.

Embracing Nature

2/9
Each of the resort's restaurants -18 Oaks, Cibolo Moon, High Velocity and also the lobby bar, Crooked Branch, have been modernized to reflect a current look and feel that embraces the nature of Texas Hill Country.

Blanco River Inspiration

3/9
New carpet in both 18 Oaks and Cibolo Moon and rugs in Crooked Branch and the main lobby area are inspired by the movement of the nearby Blanco River. Patterns reflect rushing water and a serene viewpoint.

Saturated Color Palettes

4/9
Building on the saturated color palette of the Blanco River and the surrounding banks and limestone cliffs, the scheme of the San Antonio resort's design is a welcoming sanctuary, aiding the guest in a full immersion of the landscape surrounding the resort.

Local Creations

5/9
Two new tables, each seven-feet long, in High Velocity, the hotel's sports bar, were designed and built by a local Texas manufacturer, The Wright Edge in Red Oak, Texas. As an homage to the official Texas state tree, both large community tables were made from one pecan tree that was split vertically down its center.

Custom Made Furniture

6/9
The majority of the new furniture at the hotel is custom made to naturally occupy its spaces. Leather sofas and chairs are stamped and incorporate a custom-made modern western design.

A Warmth That Feels Like Home

7/9
The uses of different woods, copper, limestone, leather and other natural materials in the furniture combine to create a warmth that feels like home and beneath guests' feet they will see the inspiration of the Texas rivers woven throughout each space.

A Modern Interpretation of Traditional Motifs

8/9
Wheat, cognac, sage, lapis, carbon, and camel appear throughout the interior as art or furnishing materials and represent the Hill Country landscape. The overall design elevates the aesthetic into a more modern and neoteric interpretation of the traditional motifs.

Natural Splendor

9/9
"I hope guests enjoy the new look and feel of this iconic Hill Country property," said Arthur Coulombe, general manager of JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa. "Whether we are welcoming a business traveler or guests visiting us to refresh and enjoy some time away from home, we look forward to sharing more of the natural warmth and splendor of our magnificent surrounding Hill Country inside our home away from home."
