Alaska Airlines this week announced the expansion of its food and beverage menu to include a wider variety of onboard snack and meal options. Main Cabin guests will find more than double the number of items previously available for pre-order, while First Class flyers can now choose from among five different entrees for in-flight meals.

We’re always looking to spark joy with great food and drink on board our flights, delivering a delicious meal or craft beverage with care as part of our award-winning service,” Todd Traynor-Corey, Alaska Airlines’ managing director of guest products, said in a news release. “What our guests have to say is important, and they told us that more food and beverage variety would be great, so we set out to make that happen. We’ve worked hard to give our guests of all ages a wider selection of food, from classic comfort food to more healthful options all while representing the vibrant flavors of the West Coast.”

Newly-added Main Cabin offerings include a new allergy- and family-friendly sandwich called Jetsetter’s Jam, which is the Seattle-based airline’s fresh spin on the time-honored PB&J. Instead of peanut butter, a toasted cashew-and-oat spread is paired with strawberry compote, spread over sweet croissant bread, and paired with fresh fruit and a Tillamook cheese slice. Alaska’s number-one staff pick, it’s a great choice for junior flyers, as well as adult passengers who are craving a classic comfort food.

Main Cabin passengers can purchase the new Jetsetter’s Jam sandwich by pre-order on flights of over 775 miles. A Kid’s Choice Picnic Pack, which is completely free of nuts, is available without the need to pre-order aboard most flights lasting longer than two hours, traveling distances of over 670 miles.

Guests who hold reservations in any cabin can pre-order their selections starting two weeks before their trip and planned and up until 20 hours prior to their departure time.

For First Class guests, Alaska continues offering freshly-prepared meals on flights traveling distances of just 550 miles or more, as opposed to other major airlines whose food items are only available on flights going farther than 900 miles. First Class passengers will find more vegan and gluten-free options available to reserve prior to takeoff using the carrier’s pre-order feature on the Alaska Airline mobile app or website. Main Cabin guests should note that most fresh food items are available to them only if they pre-order beforehand.

  • At breakfast, guests will find menu items like the Beecher’s Mushroom Omelet, Chicken Sausage Breakfast Bowl or Lemon Blueberry Pancakes.
  • Lunch options include a Wedge Salad with Applewood Bacon, Korean Barbeque Chicken Sandwich and Caramelized Onion Angus Burger.
  • On long-haul flights, new dinner selections include Chimichurri Flat-iron Steak Herb Roasted Chicken, Lemon Fennel Manicotti and Ginger Beef Stir-Fry Noodles.
  • On select flights, flyers will also have the classic comfort-food option of Beecher’s Flagship Mac and Cheese.
  • On select flights departing from the Bay Area Alicia’s Pork Carnitas Tamale, an item handcrafted locally with organic ingredients, is now available if you’re looking for a little spice.
  • All flights featuring meal service will provide vegan options via pre-order, including items like a Harissa and Chorizo Frittata (made with plant-based JUST Egg), a Spicy Tofu Wrap and a White Bean Chili with Grilled Polenta
  • In its ongoing effort to elevate the guest experience, Alaska is also bringing back glassware on regional E175 flights, and printed menus back to flights anywhere in the mainland U.S. and Hawaii.

  • Breakfast options now include a Turkey, Bacon and Tomato Bagel Sandwich and Smoked Salmon Bagel Sandwich.
  • Lunch and dinner options include two new salads developed in partnership with Evergreens Salad: Stand Banh Mi and Strawberry Fields for Chevre; and two new wraps: Mediterranean Chicken Shawarma and Chicken Mango.
  • Hot food selections are returning to flights into and out of Hawaii, starting with the popular Tillamook cheeseburger and continuing soon with more hot meal choices yet to be determined.
  • The familiar Signature Fruit and Cheese Platters, and Fresh Start Protein Platters also remain available in addition to the newly introduced sandwich and salad options.
