Travelers hoping
to follow their favorite pro football teams on the road this season will have a
few more options for getting to the game.
Delta
Air Lines announced a series of additional flights and aircraft upgrades
timed around some of the season's biggest matchups, giving fans more
opportunities to travel to away games between September and January.
The carrier said
it is adding service and increasing seat capacity in several key markets where
demand is expected to spike around popular football weekends.
“Football season
brings incredible energy and passion, and we know our customers want to be
there in person for the biggest moments,” said Amy Martin, Vice President -
Network Planning. “By adding flights to Delta’s already robust network and
increasing capacity around key matchups throughout the season, we’re making it
easier and more convenient for fans to support their teams on the road.”
Many of the new
flights are scheduled to depart a day or two before kickoff and return shortly
after the game, making it easier for fans to turn game day into a quick weekend
getaway.
Among the new
routes Delta is adding for specific matchups are:
- Buffalo–Miami
- Atlanta–Green Bay
- Minneapolis–Tampa
- Minneapolis–New Orleans
- Cincinnati–Miami

The airline is
also bringing back additional service on several routes throughout the season,
including Boston–Buffalo, Atlanta–Green Bay and Detroit–Green Bay during
particularly high-demand weekends.
Beyond adding

more travelers. Markets receiving aircraft upgrades include:
