A JetBlue plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Las Vegas Sunday after one of the passengers onboard began attacking and biting other people.
According to CBS Los Angeles, the JetBlue flight was traveling from Los Angeles International Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City when a male passenger reportedly started biting the people he knew sitting next to him.
As the plane was flying over Utah, the man began striking other people on the plane before several doctors onboard attempted to restrain him. The man started biting anyone near him, but a group of flight attendants and passengers finally held him down and put restraints on him.
"I grabbed his hands behind his back and held him there while the flight attendants put the restraints on him," a passenger named Tom told CBS Los Angeles. "At that point, he started yelling and tried to come toward the flight attendant, behind me, at the time. I really had a hell of a time keeping him in place there."
As a result of the distraught passenger's actions, the pilot was forced to divert the plane to McCarran International Airport. Once it landed safely, the aircraft was met by police who boarded the flight and took the man into custody.
A JetBlue spokesperson told CBS Los Angeles the plane endured a short delay before taking off once again and completing its journey to New York.
