Add joking about Donald Trump to the list of things that will get you kicked off an airplane.
At least, that's what we are led to believe after hearing what Shawn Sadri explained got him escorted off American Airlines Flight 292 from Los Angeles to New York City recently.
The New York Post reports Sadri's side of the brief but heated kerfuffle between flight attendants and Sadri who is a famed dentist to Hollywood elites-a job we just now learned exists.
Sadri was in Los Angeles to service the gaping maws of those pretty faces adorning the recent Academy Awards. After a job well done, Sadri was on his way back to New York, but his early-morning flight would be far more interesting than he otherwise thought it would be.
Sadri explains that he was sitting next to a Latino boy who is about six or seven when the child starts to cry.
Concerned, Sadri launches into some questions: "I asked the boy, 'Are you OK? Are you traveling alone?'"
The attention led to the boy taking off down the aisle: "He didn't speak a word of English and no one was with him. Out of nowhere, he runs down the aisle and starts screaming!"
That's when another concerned party, an American Airlines flight attendant, came to find out what caused the ruckus. Normally, an "I have no idea" or "I hope the little guy is OK. He doesn't seem to speak English" would have sufficed, but Sadri is a bit folksier than most and wanted to cut the ice with a joke, a joke that hit a very sensitive spot with staff.
Sadri states he joked, "Maybe Trump is trying to deport him."
The attendant countered with a, "Don't say that." But the encounter didn't stop there. It would lead to Sadri getting the boot from the plane, having to get on another American flight an hour later.
Sadri, who is an Iranian immigrant who came to the United States at three, told the attendant, "Fine, you must be a Trump supporter."

The celebrity dentist continues: "And she said, 'What if I am?' So I said 'If you are, you are, but you're also incompetent and need to do your job. Why am I dealing with this kid?'"
Two more involved flight attendants later and Sadri was being taken off the flight for what would later be described by American in the following statement, the only word the airline has offered on the incident: "A passenger was removed from our 6 a.m. flight to JFK yesterday for not following crew members' instructions."
Sadri continues with his side of the tale: "I wasn't yelling, I wasn't swearing, it was 6 a.m., I hadn't been drinking. I'm a New Yorker-I'm not going to back down-and I was born a Muslim in Iran. I do think all those things played into it."
As noted in the report, officials had not, as yet, explained the instructions that weren't followed during the ordeal.
What we do know is a couple months into the job, Trump's presidency is no laughing matter-well, on American Airlines, anyway.
