Southwest Airlines is launching service on more than a dozen new routes across North America this spring.
On Sunday, the low-cost carrier inaugurated service on 11 new routes, including six nonstop flights from San Jose, California.
The new routes connect the Silicon Valley hotspot with Boise, Idaho; Spokane, Washington; St. Louis; New Orleans and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Other new flights from California include San Francisco-Austin, Texas; Sacramento-Austin, Sacramento-St. Louis; Oakland-Newark, New Jersey and San Diego-Newark.
Elsewhere in the U.S., Southwest has launched nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville, Florida; between Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina and Kansas City, Missouri and between Austin and Indianapolis. The intra-Florida service operates three times a day while the Austin-Indianapolis route is Sunday-only.
Beginning Saturday, the carrier will offer weekly nonstop service between Oakland and Orlando. Daily service along the route will start July 15, 2018.
Meanwhile, new seasonal service beginning Saturday and concluding June 2, 2018 includes weekly flights between Kansas City and Pensacola, Florida; Orlando and Oklahoma City as well as Phoenix and New York via LaGuardia Airport.
New international flights beginning Saturday include weekly seasonal service between Columbus, Ohio and Cancun and between New Orleans and Cancun. The carrier recently began expanding service to Mexico, adding more flights and new cities to the mix.
The latest additions to Southwest's ever-growing route network come just months after the airline announced a handful of other new routes and added flights from Denver and Phoenix.
