The world’s leading ultra-luxury cruise line Regent Seven Seas Cruises (RSSC), today officially began construction on its next-generation vessel, Seven Seas Prestige. Marking the start of the ship’s build, a steel-cutting ceremony was held today at the Fincantieri-Marghera shipyard in Venice, Italy.

“Seven Seas Prestige represents a new era for Regent Seven Seas Cruises as we once again elevate standards in ultra luxury, all-inclusive vacations,” said Andrea DeMarco, President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “We are delighted to continue our long-established relationship with Fincantieri, a storied name in shipbuilding. This talented team will deliver a ship that transcends luxury, exuding elegance and refinement, while radiating sophistication in every way, from bow to stern.”

“We are proud to partner with Regent Seven Seas Cruises on what will be a revolutionary ship for the ultra-luxury cruise industry,” said Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager of the Fincantieri Merchant Ships Division. “With our long history of building first-class vessels and Regent’s heritage in delivering unrivaled luxury travel experiences, we are excited to begin work on Seven Seas Prestige.”

Also in attendance at today’s ceremony were Harry Sommer, President & Chief Executive Officer, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd; Patrik Dahlgren, Executive Vice President Vessel Operations, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd; Francesco Semeraro, Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations, Regent Seven Seas Cruises; and Alberico Trivellone, Senior Vice President, Newbuild and Refurbishment, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. Representing Fincantieri were Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager of the Fincantieri Merchant Ships Division, and Marco Lunardi, Shipyard Director of the Marghera yard.

A product of world-renowned shipbuilder Fincantieri, Seven Seas Prestige will be a boundary-breaking vessel that transcends luxury. Weighing in at 77,000 gross tons and with an 850-passenger capacity, she will offer one of the industry’s highest space-to-guest ratios in the business. Besides offering “Unrivaled Space at Sea”, Prestige will boast some exciting innovations, including a reimagining of the extravagant Regent Suite, new stateroom categories, fresh culinary concepts and more, all designed to enhance “The Most Inclusive Luxury Experience” that the line is famous for.

Scheduled for delivery in 2026, Seven Seas Prestige will be the first vessel of two new Prestige-Class vessels, Regent’s first new class of ship to be introduced in a decade. The debut of this new ship class follows its very successful Explorer-Class ships, also constructed by Fincantieri: Seven Seas Explorer (2016), Seven Seas Splendor (2020) and Seven Seas Grandeur (2023).

Regent’s current fleet of six vessels sails to over 550 global destinations, providing guests with a vast range of luxury services and amenities so that they indulge in the oceans’ most opulent experience. As part of the line’s signature All-Inclusive Cruise Fare model, passengers enjoy unlimited shore excursions, gourmet cuisine in specialty dining venues, fine wines and spirits, complimentary in-suite mini-bar, top-notch entertainment, spa access, Wi-Fi, valet laundry, crew gratuities and, for those staying in concierge suites and above, a one-night pre-cruise hotel stay.

Guests also have to option of upgrading to the Ultimate All-Inclusive Fare, which covers air travel—including preferred cabin class—ground transfers, and exclusive Blacklane chauffeur services to tailor their trip to perfection.
