Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Jade is now sailing from Tampa, Florida as a refreshed ship following a three-week dry-dock refurbishment.
The renovation is part of The Norwegian Edge enhancement program that added two new restaurants and two new bars and lounges to the ship, as well as updating all of its cabins and the bulk of the rest. The ship will next sail from Hamburg, Germany and Southhampton, UK in the summer to the Norwegian Fjords.
"We're thrilled to welcome Norwegian Jade back into the fleet with her new stylish finishes and modernized onboard atmosphere," said Andy Stuart, Norwegian Cruise Line president and chief executive officer.
"It is our sincere goal to deliver a fantastic vacation experience across our entire fleet, and this update to Norwegian Jade is an opportunity for us to enhance the ship's hardware to match the fantastic guest experience our hardworking crew delivers to our guests every day."
Among the added restaurants are the line's signature O'Sheehan's Bar & Grill for a 24-hour neighborhood pub and the Pit Stop for a retro poolside diner. Meanwhile, Moderno Churrascaria was relocated to deck 13 for new panoramic views, and the newly redesigned Cagney's Steakhouse now has extra seating and a virtual fireplace.
La Cucina has also been modernized while Teppanyaki got new furnishings. Jasmine Garden and the Garden Cafe were similarly enhanced.
For a new nightclub experience, there is now the Miami-like Bliss Ultra Lounge, and other Norwegian favorite Sugarcane Mojito Bar has also come along for the ride next to Moderno Churrascaria. The Spinnaker Lounge also was updated with new flooring and fittings.
The hub of the entire ship at the atrium (pictured above) has been redesigned with a central chandelier and overall modern aesthetic extending to the reception and shore excursion desks. There are also a new jumbo television and banquette lounge seating here. Additionally, the Photo Gallery now features digital monitors and larger paneling.
