UnCruise Adventures is more than doubling the capacity on its “Aleutian Islands Adventure with Dutch Harbor & Kodiak” itinerary in 2028, swapping the 36-guest Safari Explorer for the 74-guest Wilderness Explorer in response to strong booking demand.

Bookings are now open for the remote Alaska voyage. Travelers who book one of the 2028 departures by October 31, 2026, can save $350 per person through the brand’s early booking offer.

From June 2 through August 15, 2028, Wilderness Explorer will operate eight 10-night cruises between Seward and Dutch Harbor, Alaska, sailing in both directions. The itinerary explores a rarely visited stretch of Alaska, with stops and excursions in Kenai Fjords National Park, Katmai National Park, Ugashik National Wildlife Refuge, Aniakchak National Monument, the Shumagin Islands and Akutan Village.

“We started offering overnight cruises here in 2025, and they have sold out within days each year,” says Dan Blanchard, owner and chief executive officer of UnCruise Adventures. “There is strong demand for this type of adventure exploring remote, scenic areas along the Alaska Peninsula. We’re more than doubling capacity in 2028 with the vessel swap.”

The 10-night expedition is designed around active exploration, with opportunities to see tidewater glaciers and ice-filled inlets and look for wildlife including seals, puffins, sea otters, brown bears and eagles. Guests can also hike through remote bays and forests, explore sea caves and shorelines, and venture out by kayak or skiff.

The 74-guest Wilderness Explorer is currently undergoing renovations in Seattle, including steel work and updates to its wallpaper and carpeting. The ship is also receiving a new water-maker and interior improvements to its galley, lounge, bar and dining room.

Built for expedition-style cruising, Wilderness Explorer features a kayak and skiff launch platform and an expedition team of guides. Activities including hiking, nature walks, skiff excursions, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding are included in the cruise fare, as are all meals, many of which incorporate locally sourced ingredients such as fresh Alaskan seafood.
