As if the excitement wasn't building enough on its own for the long-awaited debut of Koningsdam, Holland America Line's 2,650 passenger Pinnacle-class ship, the line is stoking the fires with a video series it calls Countdown to Koningsdam.
The latest, which premiered today, has Cruise Director Jonathan Rogers once again tantalizing cruise fans with the ever sneakiest of peeks into this magnificent ship. Previous entries in the series introduced members of the ship's staff, outlined itineraries and gave enticing glimpses into the dining, entertainment and staterooms the ship will offer.

This time around, the video series checks in with the ship's captain, Emiel De Vries, during an exciting new time in the ship's progression from construction to completion.
"I've been with the new ship for over a year now," De Vries says in the video. "It's been afloat for the last ten months and last week a very exciting period started, which is the period of the sea trials."
Sailing out of Fincantieri, the ship has been through its paces, with those at the helm testing its maneuverability and seeing how it handles some serious turns, as evidenced by the map below.

"The ship's sea trials were a huge milestone in construction, and we're excited to share video footage of the beautiful Koningsdam sailing," said Orlando Ashford, Holland America Line's president, in a statement. "Watching the ship move so gracefully across the water really brings Koningsdam to life. The delivery is not far away now, and we're looking forward to officially welcoming Koningsdam to the fleet."
