January is the "National Learn a Snowsports Month." Ski Vermont has partnered with 23 states to offer month-long incentives to get visitors out skiing and riding. Anyone who wants to try something new can sign up for free for ski or ride lessons, rentals and limited lift tickets from Jan. 4 to 11, 2009. On Jan. 10, 2009, the 14th annual Winter Trails, an event organized by Snowsports Industries of America, offers free snowshoeing and/or cross-country skiing for those new to snow sports. Ski Vermont Nordic venues and information on Winter Trails can be found at www.Wintertrails.org . For more information, visit www.skivermont.com.
