We can tell you what's not bankrupt; the pipes on this here fake Adele who is masterfully singing SkyMall into oblivion.
Conan O'Brien, like the rest of the modern world, is obviously grappling with the apparent loss of SkyMall, which is suffering from the news its parent company filed for bankruptcy.
We have our own way to deal with the news in the form of analysis from Tim Wood and thoughts from yours truly.
Well, it seems the late-night host is ready for his in-flight magazine catharsis as well, so he welcomed a singer he cautiously proclaims is, "the real Adele…really, really Adele."
Harnessing the melody from Skyfall this "Adele" sings out SkyMall like some sort of somber mic drop: "This is the end, my in-flight catalog and friend. Your absence pierces through my soul, like the corners of a square fishbowl."
And she continues with questions; questions each and every one of us has as we grapple with truly astonishing and depressing news: "Where's the SkyMall? In my seatback? Where am I gonna buy a movie-reel wine rack without SkyMall?"
The answer is nowhere, because we only make bad decisions when we are confined to a tiny seat while flying 35,000 feet through the air.
So those orders for giant wall maps will sadly go unplaced and unfulfilled. Not that anyone has a wall big enough for that ridiculous thing.
Still, things like logic and good sense don't make this news any easier, because logic and good sense isn't what made SkyMall so amazing.
Play us out Adele.
