Disney officials announced the dates for the sixth edition of the biennial D23 Expo Monday.
Next year's D23 Expo will take place August 23-25, 2019, and emanate from the Anaheim Convention Center. Tickets for the event will go on sale August 23, exactly one year before the 2019 expo opens.
Disney's many brands will be present during the celebration, including Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. Visitors will be treated to presentations about what is coming soon from the company's theme parks, television, music, products, and films.
Visitors will also be able to experience an all-new exhibit curated by the Walt Disney Archives, a daily parade down the middle of the show floor, a costume contest and the D23 Expo Design Challenge. The event will feature Disney stars, characters, Imagineers, animators and filmmakers throughout the expo, as well as popular presentation venues like Hall D23, the Expo Arena, Stage 28 and Center Stage.
The D23 Expo launched in 2009 and the 2019 edition will build on the success of last year's event. The 2017 expo drew tens of thousands of Disney fans for three exciting days that included appearances by Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Whoopi Goldberg, Jordan Fisher, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Hamill, Kristen Bell, Chris Hemsworth, Mandy Moore and more.
Disney fans looking to purchase tickets to the event should visit the D23 Expo's official website starting on August 23. Special pricing on both one- and three-day tickets to the event, including an Early Bird Discount, will be exclusively available to D23 Gold Members. D23 Gold and Charter Members will also be entitled to special benefits, and ticket prices will be announced later this summer.
