Not only does Disneyland look good at 60, it feels good too. Park officials announced that a new parade and firework show would be a part of this year's epic Diamond Celebration.
The Orange County Register's Joseph Pimentel reports Disney Parks Chairman Tom Staggs delivered news on the upcoming 60th Anniversary celebration to take place starting May 22.
According to Pimentel, there will be a parade that hearkens back to the much beloved Main Street Electrical Parade and a fireworks show that will apparently work in tandem with video projections lighting up nearby structures.
All of this is to of course celebrate the initial opening of Anaheim's Disneyland, which took place way back on July 17, 1955.
Staggs offered, "Disney will share a milestone 60 years in the making." The chairman continued, "This year we are celebrating where it all began…We're bringing Walt's dream to life."

As the video states, this will be an immersive experience with projections being employed all over the place, including down Main Street and on the Matterhorn.
While still in its infancy, the show seems to employ technology that will allow the building around visitors to come alive. Add with that fireworks and you truly have a spectacle worth Disney.
"World of Color - Celebrate!" will get the crowd enjoying California Adventure into the magic as well, because video projection will enliven the already spectacular fountain show:
Disneyland will also bring back similar flair as previously enjoyed by the Main Street Electrical Parade.
In the following video, Steve Davison, who serves as the vice president of parades and spectaculars at Disney, asked the captivated crowd if they remember the parade.
After receiving cheers, Davison proclaimed, "What's wonderful is it actually premiered here on this street (Main Street) over 40 years ago, and it became the inspiration for the new parade."
"Paint the Night," as it is being called, will employ LED technology that will dazzle the eyes as vibrantly colored floats and characters come meandering down the parade route.
In all, Disneyland seems well prepared to celebrate its 60th with style. If all goes according to plan, we imagine visitors will leave the park with mouths agape after witnessing something truly special this summer.
