For those who had 2015 as the year drones would be introduced at restaurants as waiters, pick up your winnings at the door.
BBC's Tessa Wong reports Infinium Robotics will provide drone technology in Singapore's Timbre Group restaurants, which will take place sometime later this year.
Now instead of incessantly looking to catch a waiter's eye to refill your iced tea, you will now have to look considerably higher as drones float around the restaurant like a scene from a sci-fi movie.
Here is a glimpse of the technology provided by the following video:
BBC spoke with Infinium Robotics' chief executive officer Junyang Woon who assured its technology is safe, utilizing cameras, sensors and grates that cover the drones' blades.
Wong explains why the restaurant chain would want to infuse its service with a gigantic and possibly game-changing technology: "Managing director Edward Chia currently employs 90 people across six restaurants and bars. He says that with the drones - he plans to use 40 of them - he now has the capacity to open more outlets and redirect staff to do higher-skilled jobs, such as making cocktails and preparing food."
Chia went on to assure there would still be a great deal of a "human touch" presented in his restaurants. This, as it would seem, is just a way to take care of the more tedious tasks wait staff might face.
It's also one way to get your brand noticed, because the mere sight of these drones has us itching to plop down and bust out the camera as your mechanical waiter delivers your carefully concocted libation.
Still, as is echoed in the report, machines can't replace the most important aspect of a wait staff, and that's their ability to connect on a deeply personal level.
You just wouldn't want to ask a drone, "So what do you recommend?"
