Universal Studios Hollywood announced that Scooby-Doo and
the gang will be part of the theme park’s Fan
Fest Nights with the debut of Scooby-Doo Meets The Universal Monsters:
Mystery on the Backlot.
Universal Hollywood’s iconic movie studio backlot has become
popular, offering Studio Tours on trams, but this spring will feature theatrics,
suspense, humor, and live-action, all featuring a classic Scooby-Doo who-done-it
mystery.
The theme backlot tour runs for a limited 12 nights only—April
23-25; May 1-3, 7-9, 14-16—with tickets for the event now on sale.
Travelers will be cast as “extras” in a fictitious monster
movie during the Scooby-Doo Studio Tour, but The Phantom Director will hijack
the production and unleash The Universal Monsters, including Frankenstein’s
Monster, Dracula, Bride of Frankenstein, and the Wolf Man.
Universal Hollywood guests will team up with Scooby-Doo,
Fred, Daphne, Velma, and Shaggy to uncover the Phantom Director’s identity by
solving a series of clues hidden throughout the outdoor film sets.
In addition, the theme park is offering photo opportunities
with the entire Mystery Inc. gang, the Universal Monsters, and the Mystery
Machine.
For the Fan Fest Nights, Universal Hollywood previously
announced an original anime
short film called Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon the Miracle: Moon Palace
Chapter Deluxe, as well as the debut of ONE
PIECE: Grand Pirate Show.
