AC Hotels by Marriott is making its Canadian debut.
The design-led European lifestyle hotel brand from Marriott International originated in Europe in 2011 as part of a joint venture with Spanish hotelier Antonio Catalan. Since then, the brand has been busy growing its global portfolio and now includes more than 120 properties in 15 countries across Europe, the Caribbean, Latin America and North America.
With a new property located in the heart of downtown Montreal, AC Hotel Montréal Centre-Ville is aimed at both business and leisure travelers and is located on Montreal’s Boulevard René-Lévesque, just steps from the Quartier des Spectacles (entertainment district), the Palais des congrès de Montréal (Montreal’s convention center) and Old Montreal.
“We are delighted to welcome AC Hotels by Marriott’s first Canadian property to Montréal,” Don Cleary, president, Marriott International, Canada, said in a statement. “AC Hotel Montréal Centre-Ville remains true to the brand’s philosophy, which centers on creating thoughtfully designed moments that remind our entrepreneurial travelers to slow down and draw them into the present.”
The newly constructed 169-room hotel will be managed by RIMAP Hospitality Services Inc. and is located on the first twelve floors of a 35-story dual-use high-rise that also includes luxury apartments.
The hotel was designed with creative, well-traveled, entrepreneurial spirits in mind, and will cater to those constantly on the go via a sophisticated European inspired aesthetic, innovative beverage and food programming and intuitive service.
Guestrooms are oversized and include hardwood floors, large walk-in showers, floor to ceiling windows, and 50-inch HDTV featuring HBO.
“Our guests will be delighted to rest, dine and work in contemporary surroundings, in a prime city center location, steps from major festivals and prestigious business addresses”, Marc Varadi, vice president of development at RIMAP Hospitality Services Inc, said in a statement.
Additional features offered at the new AC Hotel Montreal Centre-Ville include:
AC Kitchen
Suspended between the ground lobby and mezzanine level, the AC Kitchen is home to the brand’s signature European-inspired breakfast selection, including flaky croissants, savory egg tarts, and Nespresso coffee.

This fashionable restaurant on the lobby level invites guests and locals to experience Mediterranean-inspired cuisine by Chef David Capel.

The lounge is a communal space of creativity and collaboration by day and a hub of social activity by night. Guests can unwind and enjoy tapas-style appetizers, expertly crafted cocktails, and variety of wines and spirits.
