Escape rooms are cropping up everywhere these days. Cruise ships, historic cities and, now, the Barcelo Bavaro Palace and the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Adults Only-both in the Dominican Republic.
Now guests can escape in a whole new way at the resort with the interactive gaming experience that allows guests to solve puzzles and use clues to escape from a room.
The rooms were developed by Tropical Enterprises and designed for guests of all ages. The rooms are also the only escape rooms currently in the Dominican Republic.
The concept revolves around a group of people coming together to solve a series of clues and puzzles in order to be released from the room. Participants are given a certain amount of time in which they can solve the clues and "win." Each of the two rooms has a different theme: the Lost Temple or Blackbeard's Revenge. Games can be played in Russian, English or Spanish and are open from 10 a.m. to midnight, daily.
The Escape Rooms add just another element to the already robust entertainment options available at Barcelo's Bavaro properties. Not only are the resorts located next to one of the world's best beaches, but the opportunities for guests are almost limitless.

There is a 24-hour sports bar, a semi-Olympic-size pool, two water parks, a nightclub, a 24-hour casino, a bowling center with four lanes and virtual reality games among other attractions.
Sports include golf, tennis, a soccer pitch, a baseball field, water polo, beach volleyball and more.
There is also a 1,400-seat theater that offers a children's show at 8 p.m. nightly as well a general show at 10 p.m. Each night features a different performance.
Families will find themselves right at home on the property. Accommodations range in size from approximately 445 square feet for a Superior room to two-level family "duplexes" that are almost 700 square feet.
There are also 44 1,200-square-foot family rooms that feature views of the sea or gardens and offer free rounds of golf and accommodate up to 6 people in two separate bedrooms as well as complimentary Barca Club kit, a minibar, bathrobes and more.
Rates at the property start at $237 per night, double occupancy.
