As an example of the ever-growing power of social media, the adults-only Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos created the $600,000 “Billionaire Buyout” package after one couple documented their experience as the resort’s only guests on TikTok, which went viral.
“During the soft opening phase of the resort, we chose to limit the number of suites available for booking for an intentionally exclusive experience,” said Andreas Schmidt, managing director of the 79-suite Grand Velas Boutique, which debuted on Jan. 8, and its adjacent sister property, Grand Velas Los Cabos.
“Velas Resorts prides itself on offering the very best, not just in service, but also in food, accommodations, design and experiences, so we opted for a gradual ramp up of the number of guests to ensure a vacation that surpasses expectations for any travelers who choose Velas Resorts – whether they are our first guest or a repeat visitors years after opening.”
The “Billionaire” package, which the resort said is “complete takeover experience,” includes “a three-night stay with the option to select a different luxury suite each night, private dining at Michelin two-star chef Sidney Schutte’s Cocina de Autor restaurant, airport transfer via helicopter, sunset tour on the resort’s private Bella yacht, Dom Pérignon on arrival, personal training sessions, regional wine, cheese, ancestral spirits, tequila tastings and more.”
Guests will also be privy to the services of the property’s 180 staff members.
